A brand-new service that provides easy, convenient transportation from the St. Pete/Clearwater International Airport (PIE) to Clearwater Beach!
Traveling between St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport (PIE) and Clearwater Beach has never been easier or more affordable thanks to the Grouper Airport Express.
1. Request Your Ride
Visit grouper.psta.net or download the Grouper app to request your ride. You can schedule in advance or book on-demand! You’ll get your exact fare, including any applicable discounts, when you enter your party’s information.
2. Check Your Texts
You’ll receive a confirmation text with details about your ride, including the vehicle type and license plate number. You’ll get text updates about your Grouper as your ride gets closer.
3. Enjoy the Ride!
Meet your Grouper at the pickup location. At St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport (PIE) the Grouper pickup location will be near the west exit of baggage claim. In Clearwater Beach, the Grouper will pick you up at a safe location of your choosing!

The Grouper is a new service that provides rides between the St. Pete-Clearwater Airport (PIE) and any location on Clearwater Beach, including the Sheraton Sand Key and Marriott Sand Key.
Riders can bring their luggage and the driver will help with baggage. Riders will be grouped with other passengers going to Clearwater Beach or the PIE airport—the vehicle may make other stops before getting to your final destination.
Single fares: $8. Senior discount (ages 65+) $4 Groups of 3-4: $20 one-way total Groups of 5-8: $30 one-way total
Riders can hail a Grouper ride on-demand or reserve up to 2 months in advance by clicking on the “book now” button at the top of the page or by downloading the Grouper App on iPhone or Android.
Once you reserve a ride, you will be given a 15–30-minute pickup window in which your vehicle will arrive. You will receive a text confirmation for your ride, and be able to track your vehicle as it approaches your pickup point.
The Grouper service runs every day and time that the PIE airport has inbound or outbound flights. We will do our best to accommodate delayed late night flights, but wait times may be slightly longer. Riders can hail a Grouper ride on demand or reserve a ride up to 2 months in advance.
If your travel plans get changed for any reason, simply cancel your Grouper ride and book a new one. There are no cancellation fees.
Once you land at PIE, head to the baggage claim area and follow signs for the Grouper. The pickup point is through the west baggage claim exit doors.
The Grouper goes between the St. Pete-Clearwater (PIE) airport and any location on Clearwater Beach, including the Sheraton and Marriot Sand Key resorts. All rides must start and end at either the PIE airport or Clearwater Beach (including the Sheraton and Marriot Sand Key). The Grouper does not provide service within Clearwater Beach or to other Tampa Bay locations.
Most rides will be provided in branded Grouper shuttle vehicles, but some rides will be in a taxi–be sure to check your confirmation text with the vehicle information. The Grouper is wheelchair accessible.
At this time the Grouper can ONLY be booked using the web booker or smartphone app. The web booker can be used from desktop computer or mobile phone, however you will need to be able to receive text messages in order to get updates about your ride.
